Game-Based Assessment
Next Chapter combines simulation, personality, and cognition in a single play experience. Developed by Level Up powered by Agate together with Anvesana Research Institute.

When organizations need to assess talent, readiness, or competence more objectively and at scale, games make it possible to assess through behavior, not only through self-report or static tests.

About the developer
Level Up is the gamification arm of Agate, an Indonesian game studio headquartered in Bandung. Level Up designs games and platforms for organizational needs, from learning to assessment.
In Next Chapter, Level Up builds the games, the story world, and the enterprise CMS. Anvesana looks after the measurement side.

Based on the Big Five model. Forced choices embedded in an RPG-style storyline: 32 contextual items, about 18–20 minutes.
Seven cognitive mini games (10–30 minutes) plus neuroscience-based mini games such as Balloon, Tower, Keypress, Cards, and Faces.
Every scenario is designed from situations candidates actually face. Participants engage more naturally when they recognize the context.

Evaluating the test's quality and usefulness; making sure the results are reliable, consistent, and fit for purpose.
Setting standards and reference points; analyzing score distributions and comparisons.
Every phase is guided by measurement experts.

The evidence for Next Chapter's validity is still being built. The early findings come from a small sample and have not been peer reviewed, so the results are read as a starting point, not a final conclusion.
